When we first moved to Las Vegas, we were on a frantic quest to find a good Italian restaurant, one like C&O Trattoria, our favorite in LA. A casual, reasonably priced place with good, authentic Italian food. We must have gone to at least a dozen before I heard about Nora’s. After our first visit to Nora’s, our quest was complete! Every dish we’ve had here has been excellent. Some of my favorites are the Lasagna (pictured above), the Pasta Primavera, and both the Chicken and Veal Marsala. Other standouts are the Pasta Ala Nora, the Crazy Alfredo, and the Baked Rigatoni. The Pizzas are also excellent! All of the pastas are al dente, with tasty, but not overly rich sauces. The alfredo is a perfect example. I’ve never been able to stomach ‘alfredo’ sauce, as it is most commonly served up in most restaurants. The alfredo sauce at Nora’s, however, is light, with a touch of cream, and just excellent. I don’t feel ill after eating it, which is a good thing!
The restaurant is on the corner of Flamingo and Jones, in an unassuming strip mall. There are two sides to the restaurant, with a full bar in between. The atmosphere is classy but casual, busy but relaxed. The service is always impeccable, and the prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. If you go, be sure to make a reservation. Even on an odd weeknight, there will be a wait!
