We went to Alain Ducasse’s Mix a few years ago. The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning. It’s located on the 64th floor of theHotel, adjacent to the Mix Lounge, and has one of the best views of Las Vegas. The restaurant is coloured in mostly cream, with comfy leather booths and an incredible $500,000 champagne bubble chandelier in the center. You have to see it, as it’s absolutely stunning. In between the restaurant and lounge is a bright, open kitchen to view. The restaurant is bright, modern and elegant, yet we felt quite cozy. The service is impeccable, as to be expected!
With my horrendous memory (even when if comes to food sometimes!) I can’t remember every item we ordered, although I know we did order an appetizer. I’m 99% sure Adam had the Roast Duck. I do remember that I had the Bison Tenderloin, because I still remember how this dish tasted! Although it may have been a smidgen too heavy on the pepper, it was otherwise perfect. Mild, juicy, flavorful, and cooked to absolute perfection. The best bison I’ve ever had, and maybe even the best steak I’ve eve had! If I ever go back to Mix, tempting as it is to try something different, I’d be hard pressed not to order this again. For dessert we had the Mix candy bar, which was a hazelnut bar with pistachios, mousse, and nougat covered in dark chocolate, and a peanut butter mousse bar, both topped with gold leaves. Beautiful, and delicious.
