Okay, this is not the type of place I’d normally go to. The reason we ended up here? We were going to the Human Nature show, and wanted to get a bite to eat close by before hand. We’d gone to KGB burger the night before, so that wasn’t an option. My brother suggested we try Toby Keith’s. Keep in mind, none of us could name even one of his songs!
At the waitress’ recommendation, (and before I could protest) my brother ordered the specialty of the house, the fried bologna sandwich. Uh, yeah. Those big pink hunks inbetween the bread? Bologna. I hadn’t eaten it since I was a child, and now I know why! Had it been actually FRIED, it might have been okay. But it was soft, and a bit cold. Like spam out of the can. Eww. Not my favorite. My brother and I both felt queasy the rest of the night.
We fared a little better with the salad. How can you go wrong with a grilled chicken salad? Although I was hard pressed to detect any of “Toby’s special seasoning” on that chicken, as it was a bit bland.
If you’re a huge fan of Toby Keith’s, obviously you’ll love this place. Going for just the food? Well, based on what we ordered, I wouldn’t really recommend it. Unless you like paying a premium price for a cold bologna sandwich…
