Another trip to LA, and more of me eating waaay too much! For a family bday celebration, we decided to try a nearby Korean BBQ restaurant. I wanted to go to one I’d heard of in Koreatown, but, no such luck convincing anyone to drive all the way out there! Anyway, the food ended up being pretty good at Suk San. The banchans were all fresh and tasty, some a bit on the spicy side, but all with good flavor. For our entrees we split the marinated chicken, bulgogi, and galbi. All were tender and quite flavorful. I think my favorite of the three was the galbi… super tender, with just enough fat in it, and tons of flavor. We also shared an order of their tofu soup, which I wasn’t too impressed with. The stars here are definitely the meats. We were the only customers there, so our waitress stood over us and cooked the entire time… which was nice, but I could’ve done without. It was nice, however, to get plenty of refills on the banchans. The prices were pretty reasonable, and given its close proximity to my parents’ house, we’ll likely return at some point.
