The Fat Greek

I’ve been on the lookout for a really great place for gyros here in town, and may have found it. After having a craving for one the other day, we trekked off to the Fat Greek, located in the same shopping center as Metro Pizza. The restaurant is clean inside, with typical blue and white Greek styling. The service was prompt and efficient, and the food was quite good!

I opted for a classic lamb/beef gyro, with rice pilaf. The gyro meat was nicely seasoned, and tender with a bit of crispiness on the edges. The tzaziki sauce was good; nice, cool, and herby. And the pita was quite fresh. The rice pilaf was also good, a bit lemony and herby, without being overly salty or overcooked.

We also split an order of hummus, which was really tasty. Garlicky, with a generous topping of olive oil. One of the better hummus’ I’ve had here in Vegas.

All in all, a good experience, great food, reasonable prices, and yes, there really is a fat Greek running the place!
