I’d been hearing good things about Krung Siam, which opened late last year. The restaurant it replaced was Malaysian, which I wasn’t that impressed with, and I’d hoped for better from this Thai restaurant. The interior hadn’t changed much; it was still clean and contemporary inside.
I decided to try the drunken noodles, mild, with tofu. I’d heard this place doesn’t mess around when it comes to the spice level, so I played it safe.. and I’m glad I did. The dish had a great flavor, with nice, chewy, thick noodles, plenty of fresh, crisp veggies, basil, garlic, and just enough chili to season the dish nicely without making it an overly spicy dish.
We also tried the green curry, which was much sweeter than most dishes. Good, but probably not something I’d order again here.
For dessert, we had the roti with condensed milk. Much like a sticky pancake, with plenty of gooey, sweet condensed milk on top. Simple, sweet, and quite delicious!
All in all, probably not the best Thai restaurant I’ve been to in Vegas, but then again it’s hard to judge by only 3 dishes. I’d definitely give them another shot, maybe for lunch one day as they supposedly have great lunch specials.
