I’ve been on a bit of a taco kick lately; I’ve always loved them, but for some reason I’ve been craving tacos a lot lately. While I like Roberto’s, I’m thinking I should try some other places to see if there’s something as good, or better out there?
Anyway, Leticia’s opened up about a month ago in our neighborhood, so we were bound to try it regardless of my recent taco kick. It’s located in the spot that Joey’s Seafood held for about a year before they closed. The interior is pretty much the same, only, of course, now with a Mexican theme!
The one thing Adam and I noticed right away was the prices. They’re actually a bit cheaper than most of the other Mexican restaurants we’ve been to around town. Granted, you don’t get a HUGE portion of food; rather, you get a decent sized portion which was more than enough to fill both myself and Adam up for lunch. And at $8-9 each, I think that’s a pretty good deal.
As for the food, the tacos were good, but I think I still prefer Roberto’s. I had one each of the beef and chicken, both with shredded meat, salsa, cheese, lettuce, and guacamole on the side. The meat was tasty in both, but I definitely needed to add the guacamole, as well as more salsa, to get more flavor out of them. The rice and beans were both well prepared and tasty. The chips tasted freshly made and were crunchy and salty, and the salsas were quite good. Everything was served to us fresh, hot, and within minutes of us ordering!
We’ll definitely be back to try some of their other dishes, mainly for the price and convenience of it being so close!
