Montesano’s Eateria

Posted on | August 2, 2009 | 3 Comments

I think Montesano’s was actually the first restaurant we went to after moving to Vegas a few years back. And every time since, we’ve ordered pretty much the same thing. The 5 cheese pizza, and a salad. We were heartbroken when the location near us, on Decatur, shut down. Then we found that all of the others shut down as well, and we were even more heartbroken. No!!! Where will we get our 5 cheese pizza?!

Well, Adam recently found that there’s still one tiny location left, but of course, it’s completely on the other side of town from us, in Henderson. But you do what you’ve got to do, so we trekked out there this weekend to get our fix of  pizza. This is definitely one of my all time favorite pizzas. Yes, it’s quite simple.. but sometimes simple is best. They use mozzarella, smoky mozzarella, parmigiano, romano, and provolone for this pizza, and this blend (especially that smoky mozzarella) makes for a flavor that’s simply incredible. Add to that the rich, herby tomato sauce, and a perfect, crispy crust, and you’ve got the perfect pizza.

The salads are also not to be missed. We usually just get their basic salad, which has mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes, pine nuts, and pepperocinis. Perfect, and always a nice complement to the pizza.

If you’ve never been to Montesano’s, trust me. It’s good. No, it isn’t fancy or nouveau; it’s honest, simple, and delicious food. What I would liken to an old school Italian eatery. They do have other things on the menu, including pastas, sandwiches, and calzones, all of which I’m sure are quite good.. but I can’t go there and NOT get that pizza!

They also cater and deliver (to those of you in Henderson).

Wow, I’m loving this already! Another great pizza joint here in Henderson? Which each new discovery, I feel much better about moving to Green Valley.

    Thanks, Vegas Musings. ;-)

YW! I hope you’ll go and give them a try.. I think that pizza really is something special. I really like Settebello’s too, but again, wish it weren’t on the complete opposite side of town from me, in Henderson. Lucky you, though! =D

Thanks again, Kristi. I also can’t wait to try Settebello’s. That’s even closer to me, just up Green Valley Parkway from my place. And yes, I do feel like I struck the jackpot with all these yummy pizzerias so close by.
