Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza

Although this place is bordering on a large chain, which I try not to frequent, I really like the pizzas here! Plus, it has the convenience factor since it’s close to where we live. I usually order the Pepperoni, which has nice, spicy pepperoni and a really good tomato sauce with lots of oregano, or the Margherita, which is one of my favorite types of pizza. The last time I went I ordered the Dorothea Aged Goat Cheese, pictured above. It contains sauteed mushrooms, spinach, red onions and French goat cheese, and I really liked it even though I normally don’t care for ‘white’ pizzas.

They have about 21 selections of pizzas. You have the option of ordering your pizza with a whole wheat or gluten free crust, or with fat free mozzerella (I have yet to try any of these options). The crusts are thin, are obviously cooked in a woodfired oven, and are baked well: crispy on the outside and a bit chewy in the middle.

The interior of the restaurant is a bit dark, but nice, modern and clean. Service has always been decent. The restaurant is a good size, with an outdoor patio that we like to dine in when the whether is decent.

Sammy’s also has a nice selection of salads, tapas, and desserts. My favorite salads are the Balsamic Grilled Chicken Salad and the Chopped Chicken Salad, which I like because it has plenty of fresh basil in it! The salads are a good size, and I don’t think I’ve ever finished one on my own.
